Turmeric Healing Bath

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

Turmeric is more commonly known for its use in Indian and Pakistani curries.  The spice also has many healing properties as well which include anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.  This is where the healing bath comes in!  If you’ve had a long day and your muscles and joints are achy, you can indulge yourself in a quick home made bath that will help soothe your aching joints.  (Also, if you’re suffering from acne, turmeric helps to unclog pores and remove scars and pigmentation).

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of turmeric powder. You can buy this if you don't have any: Marshalls Creek Spices Turmeric Powder
warm bath

Directions:

Add the turmeric powder to a warm bath and soak in it for about 15 minutes.

The turmeric will stain your clothes so remember to keep everything away from it. That being said, it will also turn your bath tub a yellowish hue, but bleach or any other cleaning agents will take care of that. Your skin will stain but not noticeably and the stain does wash away.

Remember to relax and take some time out for yourself for your home treatments.  Try lighting some candles (safely) and turn on some relaxing music.  Healing is done as much through the mind as through the body.
